Ceramic Fiber Board Manufacturers | Grades & Uses Guide

FAQs

A: Ceramic fiber board is made from high-purity alumina-silica ceramic fibers combined with binders and formed into rigid boards. The result is a lightweight insulation board with low thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance.

A: Techno World Corporation's ceramic fiber boards are rated between 1260°C and 1430°C (2300°F to 2600°F), depending on the grade. The higher grade is used where temperatures are closer to the upper limit.

A: Ceramic fiber board is rigid and self-supporting, so it holds its shape, resists gas velocity and can be cut into precise parts. Ceramic blanket is flexible and wraps around curves and irregular surfaces. Many linings use both.

A: It is used as hot face and backup insulation in furnaces, kilns, boilers and incinerators, in petrochemical reactors and reformers, as gaskets and seals, and in fire protection systems such as fire doors and barriers.

A: Refractory ceramic fibers can release fine dust when cut or handled, and they are classified as a possible human carcinogen by IARC. Use dust masks or respirators, gloves, long sleeves and good ventilation, and follow the safety data sheet.
